If you’re here, you’re probably a real go-getter. You’re ready to step it up and take your fitness to the next level, right?
Awesome! I’m all about constantly learning and growing because I believe that growth equals happiness.
So where do we begin?
Start by acknowledging where you are right now.
So often, we forget how far we’ve come because we’re so focused on where we want to go. Take a moment to look back at the last 12 months and give yourself a big pat on the back for all the awesome achievements and goals you’ve accomplished so far.
Decide what you want next.
This can often be a difficult step. You need to figure out exactly what “your next level of fitness” means to you. For one person this might mean increasing the number of workouts they do per week, for someone else it could mean upping their weights by increments until they reach x kgs/lbs by a certain date, and for you it might mean something completely different.
*Exercise: Grab a paper and pen and write down all the fitness goals you might have. Get really specific! Then, look at each goal and ask yourself, “what do I want this for?”. Write down the answer next to each goal. We do this so we understand the motivation behind each goal. This will keep you going when your progress plateaus or your motivation begins to wane.
Create an action plan.
Goals are great but without action they become just words on a page.
*Exercise: Set aside time to take each goal and write out clear action steps of how you can achieve your outcome.
Schedule it in.
Again, action points are great…but you’ve got to actually do them to move yourself closer to your goals.
*Exercise: Take those action points and put them in your calendar to remind you to complete your action steps.
Est voila! You’ve already taken your first step towards your next level of fitness.
